Our Mission and Vision
Unami Solar, LLC is an organization that was created with the goal of implementing distributed generation solar projects and attracting new solar manufacturing businesses to the State of New Jersey and the northeast corridor, creating clean energy jobs which will have a positive impact on the economy.

Unami Solar develops solar energy projects in a seamless and timely manner. The team has a keen understanding of how to develop solar projects and how to access potential solar sites in compliance with all aspects of governmental and financial requirements. Unami Solar can arrange project financing when and where needed.

The alternative energy sector represents a major growth industry for the U.S. at a time when it must begin to seek out and commercialize new forms of energy. As the second most active state in installed solar energy capacity, New Jersey seeks to build on this success by providing a business-friendly economic environment for entities that want to move in and support the legitimate expansion of renewables.

Unami Solar sees New Jersey as a potential clean energy manufacturing center, and is seeking partnerships to carry out this vision.

What are Unami Solar’s objectives?
  1. Seek out and create joint ventures with manufacturers willing to locate to Trenton, NJ.
  2. Support those manufacturers who decide to set up operations with professional property development and property management services.
  3. Develop solar projects on federal and state buildings
  4. Assist in managing the overall project financing.
Unami Solar’s Team of Professionals
The Delaware Nation of Western Oklahoma or “The Delaware,” the ancestral inhabitants of New Jersey, are the primary investors in Unami Solar. Part of The Delaware’s strategic vision for preserving their original homelands is to ensure that New Jersey is an active and robust center of clean energy job creation. To date they have signed several Clean Energy Initiatives with the City of Trenton in support of this vision. The Delaware are officially recognized by the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs as a self-sustaining and self-governed nation which is empowered to actively seek out solar development initiatives throughout North America and in New Jersey in particular. The Delaware are uniquely positioned for long-term business development - and are actively seeking joint venture arrangements to establish Class 1 Renewable Energy solar technologies to the mutual benefit of each party. As a major land holder in the State, The Delaware also has space available for commercial use, and has dedicated manufacturing space for solar module manufacturing in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Mr. Shelley M. Zeiger is a project developer and humanitarian who is widely recognized for his accomplishments on state, national and international levels. In 1991, he worked to build the publicly funded Trenton Marriott at Lafayette Yard, a full-service hotel and conference center that was the key to Trenton's revival. Serving as co-developer, Mr. Zeiger's financial strategy was critical to the success of this important project.

In addition, Mr. Zeiger was instrumental in bringing together the City of Trenton and the Delaware Nation in a partnership to create green technology jobs and redevelop state-owned properties including the possible manufacturing of solar modules in Trenton. Unami Solar, LLC represents the first of several major renewable energy initiatives resulting from this partnership, and slated for New Jersey and the northeast corridor. He has extensive expertise in property planning, development, permitting and management.

Senior alternative energy business development professional Robert P. Magyar has managed national and international multi-million dollar solar deals for high profile client projects, including the solar installations at Denver International Airport and Fresno Airport in California. Mr. Magyar had more than 25 years experience in the electrical industry with more then 10 years in the renewable energy industry. He has created multi-million dollar sales programs for the Home Depot, American Standard, Inc. and BP Solar and has been awarded four U.S. patents for new electrical equipment products and installation systems. He has extensive expertise in project development and finance, including large-scale backup power solutions.

Solar in the U.S. Market
To date, alternative energy has not only become a widely accepted and popular form of energy, but it also fills a serious need in the marketplace as electric rates continue to rise. The trend is also growing due to the formation of the U.S. carbon cap and trade. Currently there are about 800 MW of total installed solar capacity in the U.S., 100 MW of which are in New Jersey. The primary method of financing these projects is through the use of a power purchase agreement or “PPA” which gives customers an effective means to finance a solar project without having to assume the up-front costs. This highly successful financial model has resulted in increasing robustness of the market and accounts for three-quarters of U.S. commercial and industrial solar sales.

Recognizing this need, Unami Solar seeks to partner with solar energy manufacturers who are willing to establish manufacturing operations in New Jersey’s state capital of Trenton, where there are government programs in place to attract expansion of solar. Unami Solar’s staff of skilled sales executives are experts in navigating the government programs which are available, as well as developing installed solar projects. This creates a winning combination by driving installed solar project deal flow to support those firms willing to establish manufacturing operations in the state. Additional overall benefits of driving solar manufacturing include the creation of new jobs for returning war veterans who have served our country, as well providing job opportunities for minorities and other disadvantaged groups.
